From flooring to beams to siding and even recycled tin, the possibilities with reclaimed materials are endless. In addition to LEED points and the other benefits of supporting sustainability, these products create an atmosphere that is not attainable using new materials.

This hand hewn oak cabin is one of the most unique we’ve found for several reasons: It’s original size is unusually large, measuring 28 by 30 ft. The size of the logs are massive with faces ranging from 10-16 inches wide. It is a very early cabin, standing in York County and dating to the late 1700’s. We were able to determine this based on the rosehead cut nails used on the exterior siding as well as the hand cut lathe used in the downstairs. Another unusual feature of this cabin is that it was never updated for modern amentities (even the most recent owner used an outhouse). It is an exceptional cabin in nearly perfect condition and many of the floors, doors, hardware, etc. are salvageable and included in the price.
